Yangon-Bagan-Mt Poppa

Day 1 (-/-/-) City Tour in Yangon

Our friendly travel companion shall wait for you at the airport. We shall bring you to well-known Chaukhtat Kyi Pagoda, which houses one of the most revered reclining Buddha image in the country and it is a must see stop due to its enormous 65 meter long size and rich details. After that, we shall visit to the most famous landmark of Myanmar, one of the world wonder, the most scared Buddhist religious site, Wonderful Shwedagon Pagoda. The Pagoda has the interesting legend with remarkable architecture where the whole stupa is covered in genuine gold plates. After visit to Shwedagon, we shall lead to Yangon old quarter where we can see the historical colonial buildings. We shall shop at the famous Bogyoke market where world best Jades, pearls, jewelleries and Burmese artefacts are being sold. We shall visit to Botataung Pagoda at the bank of Yangon river and enjoy the sunset at the Botataung jetty. (or) we can choose to go Kandawgyi park and enjoy the sunset at there with beautiful Kandawgyi lake and Karaweik floating palace (one of the beautiful landmark in Yangon). Dinner shall be served before leaving to Aung Mingalar Bus terminal to Bagan.

Day 2 (-/-/-) Bagan Cultural Tour

Express bus will arrive Bagan in early morning. Our professional guide shall pick you up at the bus station and bring you for breakfast. After breakfast, you shall visit to Thagya Pone Temple where you can have the overall landscape view of Bagan. Bagan tour shall include Kyansittha Umin, where you can see original frescoes and some painted by Bagan’s Tartar invaders. Tour shall continue to Gubyaukgyi – Gubyauknge at Wetkyi Inn where you can find some excellent fine frescoes of scenes from the jatakas at Gubyaukgyi and stucco carvings on the outside walls at Gubyauknge. Ananda Temple is famous as the finest, largest, best preserved and most revered of the Bagan temples. Thatbyinyu Temple, one of the earliest double-storeyed temples and the highest temple in Bagan. Htilominlo with its interesting legend and fragments of the original fine plaster carvings and glazed sandstone decorations outside the temple. Tharabar Gate, the ancient wall of Bagan city, is only remaining gate among original 12 gates. Gawdawpalin ,a double-storeyed temple in the late style, is one of the largest shrines of Bagan with intersting story behind. You will enjoy the sunset at Buu Paya at the Bank of Ayeayawaddy (Irrawaddy) River. Dinner will be served after and you will be sent back to hotel for good night sleep. Overnight at Bagan.

Day 3 (B/-/-) Visit to Mount Poppa

After breakfast at hotel, we shall take the private transport to visit to Mount Poppa ,which is about 1 and half hour drive from Bagan, is a dead vocalno. It is considered the abode of country’s most powerful Nats(spiritual beings) and as such is the most important nat worship center. It is the Mount Olypus of Burma. There are many interesting legends about the Mont Poppa and the view over the mountain is amazing. Mount Poppa is a good place to see the local spiritual beliefs and tranditions. After the Mount Poppa visit, we shall drive back to Bagan and on the way back, we can visit to Burmese rural sweet liquor (htan-yay) upon request. We shall visit to some Bagan temple in the evening. Sulamani Temple has some of Bagan’s finest ornamental work.
Dhammayangyi Temple is the most massive structure and best brick work in Bagan with interesting stories and theories about the temple. Overnight at Bagan hotel.

Day 4 (B/-/-) Insightful Bagan Tour

On Day 4 morning, you will be visitng four pagodas which have enshrined Buddha’s tooth replica. There is a legend saying that if one has visited the four pagoda within one day and donating the same amount, wishing the same one “good” wish, it would come true. King Anawrahta set his royal white elephant free with the Buddha Tooth Replica to locate where to construct the temples. The scared white elephant stopped at these four places and the king built four stupas. Tantkyi Mountain is located at the other side of the Ayeyawaddy River and you can enjoy the sceneric view of Bagan at the mountain top. The remaining three stupas exist on the side of Bagan city. Lawkananda Temple is located at the bank of Ayeyawaddy Pagoda and no matter how high the tide is, it can never damange the pagoda. Shwezigon was built as the most important temple in Bagan as it is the reflection for the new Theravada faith King Anawarahta had established in Bagan. Many interesting wonders of Shwezigon can be found during your visit there. We will visit to Tuyin Mountain for the last temple enshired Buddha’s tooth replica in Bagan.
After lunch, we shall visit to “Min Nan Thu” Village where you can see the Burmese typical village lifestyle and how they make living.
It shall be followed by visit to one of the Burmese Traditional Lacquer ware Workshops to understand how the burmese lacquer ware are made of step by step.
Temples Manuha with gigantic Buddha Images which seem too large to be enclosed in the temple to reflect the suffering of captive king who was the original donor of this temple.
Lemyetna Temple, Abeyadana Temple, Payathonzu Temples shall be visited where you can find the classical Bagan architecutre, precious ancinet mural paintings, fine frescoes. You shall be transferred to bus station.

Day 5 (-/-/-) Arrival to Yangon

Bus shall arrive to Aung Mingalar Yangon bus station in the morning. End of the trip.
